Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 13, 2026

This policy explains what FruitLore (fruitlore.com) collects, why, and what choices you have. We keep it deliberately short because the site does very little with your data.

The short version

  • We only collect an email address if you choose to subscribe to the newsletter.
  • We use cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics — no tracking cookies, no cross-site profiling.
  • We don't sell your data, and we don't run advertising today.
  • You can unsubscribe at any time, and ask us to delete your data by emailing hello@fruitlore.com.

What we collect

Newsletter

If you subscribe, we store the email address you provide and the page you subscribed from (so we know which content people found worth following). Subscriptions use double opt-in: we email you a confirmation link, and you aren't added until you click it.

Analytics

We use a privacy-friendly analytics tool that measures aggregate traffic (page views, referrers, country, device type) without cookies and without collecting information that identifies you personally. We use it only to understand which fruits and articles are useful.

Server logs

Like any website, our hosting provider (Amazon Web Services / CloudFront) records standard technical logs — such as IP address and browser type — to deliver the site and keep it secure. These are retained briefly for operational and security purposes.

How we use it

  • To send you the newsletter you asked for.
  • To understand aggregate, anonymous traffic and improve the content.
  • To operate and secure the website.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your information. Your email address may be processed by the service that stores our subscriber list and by our hosting provider (AWS), strictly to run the newsletter and the site. That's it.

Cookies

The public FruitLore website sets no tracking or advertising cookies. Because our analytics are cookieless and we run no ad networks, there is no cookie-consent banner — there's nothing to consent to. (Our separate editor tool sets a single sign-in cookie for logged-in staff only; it isn't used on this public site.)

Advertising

We do not currently display advertising. If that changes, we will update this policy and disclose any third-party cookies or data sharing an ad provider introduces, along with your choices.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe from any email using the link in it, and you can ask us to access or delete the data we hold about you by writing to hello@fruitlore.com. Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR), you may have additional rights to access, correct, or object to processing; we honour those requests.

Data retention

We keep subscriber emails until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

Children

FruitLore is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13.

International transfers

The site is hosted on AWS infrastructure, which may process data in the United States or other regions. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

Changes

We'll revise this page and update the date above when our practices change.
